Czech FoodFest 2026, Lezzet ve Kültür Şölenine Dönüştü

Gastronomi artık yalnızca yemek kültürü değil; ülkelerin kimliğini, tarihini, yaşam tarzını ve medeniyet birikimini dünyaya anlatan en güçlü kültürel diplomasi araçlarından biri olarak kabul ediliyor.

Bir milletin mutfağı; onun hafızası, coğrafyası ve ruhudur. İşte tam da bu anlayışla düzenlenen “Czech FoodFest 2026 – Çek Cumhuriyeti Yemek Festivali”, İstanbul’da unutulmaz bir kültür ve lezzet şölenine dönüştü.

Çek Cumhuriyeti İstanbul Başkonsolosu Olga Hajflerová ev sahipliğinde, 16 Mayıs 2026 tarihinde Tünel Midpoint’te gerçekleştirilen festival; diplomasi, gastronomi, müzik ve kültürü aynı sofrada buluşturdu.

İstanbul’un seçkin davetlilerinin katıldığı etkinlik, yalnızca bir yemek festivali değil; Türkiye ile Çek Cumhuriyeti arasındaki dostluğun ve kültürel yakınlaşmanın güçlü bir sembolü oldu.

Çek Mutfağının Asırlık Lezzet Yolculuğu

Festival boyunca Çek mutfağının geleneksel ve karakteristik tatları konuklara sunuldu. Orta Avrupa mutfak kültürünün en güçlü temsilcilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen Çek mutfağı; yoğun aromaları, uzun pişirme teknikleri, et ve sos dengesiyle dünya gastronomisinde özel bir yere sahip bulunuyor.

büyük ilgi gördü.

Özellikle gulaş çorbası, misafirlerin en çok konuştuğu lezzetlerden biri oldu. Uzun süre ağır ateşte pişirilen et, yoğun kırmızı biber aroması ve doğal et suyuyla hazırlanan bu geleneksel tarif; Çek mutfağının karakterini adeta tek başına yansıttı.

Tatlı bölümünde sunulan elmalı strudel ise ince hamuru, elma ve tarçın dengesiyle adeta Avrupa pastacılık kültürünün zarif bir imzası gibiydi.

Bohemya’nın Dünyaca Ünlü Bira Kültürü

Festivalin en dikkat çeken bölümlerinden biri de Çek bira kültürü oldu. Dünyanın kişi başına en fazla bira tüketen ülkelerinden biri olan Çek Cumhuriyeti, bira üretimindeki yüzlerce yıllık geleneğiyle tanınıyor.

Özellikle Bohemya bölgesinde üretilen Budvar biraları; geleneksel üretim teknikleri, yüksek malt kalitesi ve aromatik dengesiyle dünya bira kültüründe özel bir yere sahip. Festival boyunca açık ve koyu Budvar fıçı biraları büyük ilgi görürken, düzenlenen bira ustalık atölyesi de katılımcılardan tam not aldı.

Konuklar, Çek biracılığının yalnızca bir içecek kültürü değil; aynı zamanda sosyal yaşamın, dostluğun ve paylaşımın önemli bir parçası olduğunu yakından deneyimleme fırsatı buldu.

Başkonsolos Olga Hajflerová’dan Zarafet ve Samimiyet Dolu Konuşma

Festivalin açılış konuşmasını yapan Çek Cumhuriyeti İstanbul Başkonsolosu Olga Hajflerová, davetlileri sıcak ve samimi sözlerle karşıladı.

Başkonsolos Hajflerová konuşmasında, festivalin yalnızca yemek sunmak amacı taşımadığını; dostlukları güçlendiren, kültürleri yakınlaştıran özel bir buluşma olduğunu vurguladı.

Konuşmasında Çek mutfağının önemli temsilcileri olan şefler Kristyna Kocánková ve Petr Král’ın Çek Cumhuriyeti Dışişleri Bakanlığı tarafından festivale özel gönderildiğini belirten Hajflerová, Güney Bohemya Üniversitesi’nden Dr. Václav Nebeský’nin de Çek balık kültürünü tanıtmak amacıyla etkinlikte yer aldığını ifade etti.

Festivalin gerçekleşmesine katkı sağlayan Midpoint, Škoda Yüce Auto, Twisto, Evolog ve tüm sponsorlara teşekkür eden Hajflerová’nın mütevazı ve içten tavırları geceye damga vurdu.

Çek Cumhuriyeti İstanbul Başkonsolosu Olga Hajflerovákonuşmasın sonunda Çek Konsolosluğu ekibine ve ekip lideri René Daněk başta olmak üzere organizasyonda emeği geçen tüm çalışma arkadaşlarına özverileri, disiplinleri ve dayanıklılıkları için özel teşekkür etti.

Asalet Detaylarda Gizlidir

Gecenin en dikkat çeken anlarından biri ise Başkonsolos Olga Hajflerová’nın sergilediği zarafet oldu.

Protokol mesafesinin arkasına saklanmayan Hajflerová, etkinlik sırasında yemek standında herkes gibi sıraya girerek yemeğini aldı ve ardından benim bulunduğum Bistro Pub masasına gelerek sohbet etti.

Verdiğim basın desteğine gösterdiği bu ince vefa davranışı, davetliler üzerinde büyük takdir topladı. Gösterişten uzak tavrı, samimiyeti ve tevazusu; gerçek asaletin makamdan değil karakterden geldiğini bir kez daha ortaya koydu.

Diplomasinin sert yüzünün aksine, insan ilişkilerindeki sıcaklığı ve zarafetiyle dikkat çeken Olga Hajflerová, gece boyunca misafirlerle birebir ilgilenerek kültürel diplomasinin en güzel örneklerinden birini sergiledi.

Tolga Çevik’e Sürpriz Doğum Günü

Gecenin sürprizlerinden biri de Çek Konsolosluğu Siyasi İşler ve Basın Sorumlusu Tolga Çevik için hazırlanan doğum günü pastası oldu.

Festival atmosferine ayrı bir renk katan sürpriz kutlama, davetlilerin alkışları ve neşeli anları eşliğinde gerçekleşti. Samimi görüntüler, gecenin yalnızca resmi bir diplomatik etkinlik değil; aynı zamanda dostlukların güçlendiği özel bir buluşma olduğunu gösterdi.

Misafirlerle kurulan içten iletişim

Festival boyunca Çek Cumhuriyeti Ankara Elçiğinden gelen Military hava ateşe Albay Michal Barton, Çek Konsolosluğu’nun üst düzey isimlerinden Tolga Çevik, René Daněkve Jakub Dluhosch davetlilerle birebir ilgilenerek samimi sohbetleri ve sıcak yaklaşımlarıyla geceye ayrı bir değer kattı. Misafirlerle kurdukları içten iletişim, organizasyonun yalnızca diplomatik bir etkinlik değil; aynı zamanda dostluk ve kültürel paylaşım atmosferi taşıyan özel bir buluşma olduğunu gösterdi.

Müzik, gastronomi, kültür ve diplomasi…
Czech FoodFest 2026, tüm bu unsurları aynı sofrada buluşturmayı başardı.

Ticho de Pre Cupé Band’in performansı eşliğinde devam eden gece boyunca konuklar; Çek lezzetlerini tattı, Bohemya bira kültürünü deneyimledi ve Avrupa’nın kalbinden İstanbul’a uzanan sıcak dostluk atmosferine tanıklık etti.

Festival sonunda davetlilerin ortak görüşü ise aynıydı:

“Bu sadece bir yemek festivali değil, kültürlerin sofrada buluştuğu unutulmaz bir deneyimdi.”

Gastronomy Diplomacy Meets in Istanbul

Czech FoodFest 2026 Turned Into a Feast of Flavor and Culture

Gastronomy is no longer merely a food culture; it is now recognized as one of the strongest tools of cultural diplomacy, reflecting a nation’s identity, history, lifestyle, and civilizational heritage to the world.

A nation’s cuisine is its memory, geography, and soul. Organized with precisely this understanding, “Czech FoodFest 2026 – Czech Republic Food Festival” transformed into an unforgettable celebration of culture and flavor in Istanbul.

Hosted by the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Istanbul, Olga Hajflerová, the festival took place on May 16, 2026, at Tünel Midpoint, bringing diplomacy, gastronomy, music, and culture together at the same table.

Attended by distinguished guests from Istanbul, the event was not merely a food festival; it became a powerful symbol of friendship and cultural rapprochement between Türkiye and the Czech Republic.

A Century-Old Culinary Journey of Czech Cuisine

Throughout the festival, guests experienced the traditional and distinctive flavors of Czech cuisine. Considered one of the strongest representatives of Central European culinary culture, Czech cuisine holds a unique place in world gastronomy with its rich aromas, slow-cooking techniques, and perfect harmony of meat and sauces.

Detailed information regarding the traditional Czech dishes served at the festival was personally shared with me by Barbora Hitaj. The special recipes featured on the menu provided valuable insights into the deeply rooted gastronomic culture of Czech cuisine.

Among the specialties presented at the festival were:

Traditional roasted duck served with white and red cabbage alongside Czech-style dumplings
The famous “Svíčková na smetaně,” prepared with creamy vegetable sauce
Traditional goulash soup
Schnitzel with potato salad
Special Czech apple strudel flavored with cinnamon

These dishes attracted remarkable attention from the guests.

In particular, the goulash soup became one of the most talked-about flavors of the evening. Slowly cooked over low heat, enriched with intense paprika aroma and natural broth, this traditional recipe perfectly reflected the character of Czech cuisine.

The apple strudel served in the dessert section, with its delicate pastry and balanced apple-cinnamon flavor, stood out as an elegant signature of European pastry culture.

Bohemia’s World-Famous Beer Culture

One of the most remarkable highlights of the festival was Czech beer culture. The Czech Republic, known as one of the countries with the highest beer consumption per capita in the world, is globally recognized for its centuries-old brewing tradition.

Especially Budvar beers produced in the Bohemia region hold a distinguished place in world beer culture thanks to their traditional brewing techniques, high-quality malt, and aromatic balance. Throughout the festival, both light and dark Budvar draft beers attracted great interest, while the beer masterclass received full appreciation from participants.

Guests had the opportunity to experience firsthand that Czech brewing culture is not merely about beverages, but also an essential part of social life, friendship, and sharing.

A Speech Full of Elegance and Sincerity by Consul General Olga Hajflerová

Delivering the opening speech of the festival, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Istanbul Olga Hajflerová welcomed the guests with warm and sincere remarks.

In her speech, Hajflerová emphasized that the festival was not organized solely to present food, but rather to create a special gathering that strengthens friendships and brings cultures closer together.

She stated that chefs Kristyna Kocánková and Petr Král, prominent representatives of Czech cuisine, had been specially sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for the festival. She also mentioned that Dr. Václav Nebeský from the University of South Bohemia participated in the event to introduce Czech fish culture.

Hajflerová also thanked Midpoint, Škoda Yüce Auto, Twisto, Evolog, and all sponsors contributing to the festival. Her humble and sincere attitude left a remarkable impression on the evening.

At the end of her speech, Consul General Olga Hajflerová extended special thanks to the Czech Consulate team, especially team leader René Daněk, and all colleagues involved in the organization for their dedication, discipline, and resilience.

True Nobility Lies in the Details

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the elegance displayed by Consul General Olga Hajflerová.

Without hiding behind diplomatic protocol, Hajflerová stood in line like everyone else at the food stand to receive her meal and later came to the Bistro Pub table where I was seated to have a conversation.

This graceful gesture of appreciation for the press support I provided received great admiration from the guests. Her modesty, sincerity, and humility once again proved that true nobility comes not from position, but from character.

Contrary to the often rigid face of diplomacy, Olga Hajflerová drew attention throughout the evening with her warmth and elegance in human relations, presenting one of the finest examples of cultural diplomacy.

A Surprise Birthday Celebration for Tolga Çevik

One of the evening’s pleasant surprises was the birthday cake prepared for Tolga Çevik, Political Affairs and Press Officer of the Czech Consulate.

The surprise celebration added a joyful atmosphere to the festival and was accompanied by applause and cheerful moments from the guests. These sincere scenes demonstrated that the evening was not only an official diplomatic event but also a special gathering where friendships were strengthened.

Warm Communication with the Guests

Throughout the festival, Military Air Attaché Colonel Michal Barton from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ankara, along with senior members of the Czech Consulate including Tolga Çevik, René Daněk, and Jakub Dluhosch, personally interacted with guests through friendly conversations and warm hospitality, adding special value to the evening.

Their sincere communication with the attendees showed that the organization was not merely a diplomatic event, but also a meaningful gathering carrying the spirit of friendship and cultural exchange.

A European Breeze in Istanbul

Music, gastronomy, culture, and diplomacy…

Czech FoodFest 2026 successfully brought all these elements together at the same table.

Throughout the evening, accompanied by the performance of Ticho de Pre Cupé Band, guests tasted Czech delicacies, experienced Bohemian beer culture, and witnessed a warm atmosphere of friendship extending from the heart of Europe to Istanbul.

At the end of the festival, the common opinion among the guests was clear:

“This was not simply a food festival, but an unforgettable experience where cultures met around the same table.”
